Born in Madinah in , Al-Mueaqly earned a degree in mathematics and joined the educational staff of Balat Al Shuhada School and later became the student&#;s adviser in Abd Al-Majid School in Makkah. In , he obtained a master&#;s degree in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) from Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah and went on to earn a PhD from the same university in
Career
Sheikh Al-Mueaqly started to lead prayers he various masajid in Makkah and Madinah. His recitation soon gained attraction, with people overflowing in masajid to pray behind him and listen to his Recitation.
He eventually left his job as an adviser and began to teach at King Abdullah University. He was appointed to lead Taraweeh in Masjid Al Nabawi in the years and and then in , he was appointed to lead Taraweeh in Masjid Al Haram, Makkah, and soon after Ramadan, he was appointed as a permanent Imam.
