Jackie Wilson was born Jack Leroy Wilson in Detroit, Michigan, on June 9, He was named after his father, and his family and friends called him &#;Sonny.&#; Sonny Wilson had no siblings for roughly the first decade of his life and forever remained the center of the world for his mother, Eliza Mae. Ultimately, they would share the same burial plot.
