Jack Charles (5 September – 13 September ), also known as Uncle Jack Charles, was an Australian stage and screen actor and activist, known for his advocacy for Aboriginal people. He was involved in establishing the first Indigenous theatre in Australia, co-founding Nindethana Theatre with Bob Maza in Melbourne in His film credits include the Australian film The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith (), among others, and more recently appeared in TV series Cleverman () and Preppers ().
He spent many decades in and out of prison, which he ascribed largely to trauma that he experienced as a child, as one of the Stolen Generations. In later life he became a mentor for Aboriginal youth in the prison system along with musician Archie Roach, and was revered as an elder. As a gay man, Charles was considered a gay icon and role model for LGBTQI+ Indigenous youth.

Australian actor Jack Thompson had a little-known year relationship with two sisters.
In she remembers thinking; "What am I doing with my life? I have no money, career or family close by." She had had three terminations during her time with Jack, but was starting to think that perhaps she would like to have a child.
In she realised she was living an illusion, and soon after left the relationship during a dramatic fight in Spain at an airport.
It was when Bunkie finally broke her silence on that period of her life and the details of the relationship - by that point she was a year-old mother of two.
She decided to write about her story when her son blurted out; "I'm not proud that my mother had sex with her sister."

Looking back, Bunkie thinks her relationship was in fact "quite old-fashioned."
"We had separate bedrooms, he was just sleeping with both of us," she told New Idea.
"In some societies, a man has a wife and a mistress, or maybe a couple of mistresses. But it is unusual in Western society I was captivated by his attention," she told A Current Affair in a sit-down chat.

His great-great-grandfather, a Djadjawurrung man, was one of the activists who resisted government policy at the Corranderrk reserve in Victoria in He was a victim of the Australian Government's forced child removal program, and was taken from his mother as a four-month-old baby. He was raised in the Salvation Army Boys' Home at Box Hill in suburban Melbourne, where he was the only Aboriginal child and was sexually abused.
