Biography

Pype gained international acclaim through the hit success of his very first single, “Keep It Cool” (), which went on to be featured on the Golden Globe-winning American television series “The Shield” and enjoyed prominence through songs like &#;Give it to Me&#; () and &#;Champion&#; (). In , General Pype won The Most Gifted Reggae and Dancehall Video for Champion remix at Channel O music video Awards and also in , he got nominated for the MTV Africa Music Award.

He started his own record label, Obalende Records in , to reflect where he grew up and hails from. Obalende is a suburb in a remote part of Lagos State.

After a music hiatus since his last single “Mash It Up” in to take care of his family and pursue his education as a set designer at Georgia Film Academy. On March 1, , Pype officially signed a management deal with distribution company CashBoy Records, founded in Accra, Ghana by Morgan CashBoy as he began working with Grammy-Award winning publishing and marketing agency Creative Titans, a JV partner of Concord Records.

Andrew Pyper was born in Stratford, Ontario, in He received a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from McGill University, as well as a law degree from the University of Toronto. Although called to the bar in , he has never practiced.

His most recent novels include The Homecoming (), The Only Child (), and The Damned (). His novel, The Demonologist, won the International Thriller Writers Award for Best Hardcover Novel, and was a #1 bestseller in Canada and Brazil.

A number of Pyper&#;s works have been acquired for TV or feature film. The Homecoming is being developed by eOne with Andrew acting as Co-Creator and Executive Producer. Other active projects have not yet been announced.

Among the earlier novels, The Guardians was published in Canada (Doubleday Canada) in January , the U.K. (Orion) in February , and following this internationally in various territories. It was selected a Globe and Mail Best Books of the Year.
